My Friend weights about 90kg and height is 155cm. She applied for a nursing job at XX Hospital.

She got interviewed by the ADN= Assisting Director of Nursing (Matron).

ADA asked:"
You are quite a big size gal.
You know ...when in Emergency where patient collapse, you have to perform CPR.
How are you going to do squeeze in and help resuscitation since you will definitely take up a lot of space due to your size?"

Friend replied: "I've lost quite a lot of weight since then.”

Ms Piggyneo feels that XX Hospital needs to go for Communication Skill for interviewing. If XXH wants to compete with local and overseas, XXH needs a lot of REVAMPING to do.

Competency and Fat does not link at all.
And working is all about competency.

How a Hospital can choose their staff according to weights?

NO WONDER those nurses that were bonded at XXH
• are from China
• are Slim
• look pretty

PS. I must declare that I have nothing against China. I like China.

Good news ! I am going to sign on at CGH ! I am going to be a staff nurse there le ! BUT I dont really know what I want to specialise in .
I dont really know.
I like general ward settings.
I like to interact with pple.
I must admit I am not a very good communicator.
Still, I want to learn to communicate.
I do not like to go KK because ..........children and women = *BIG HEADACHE*
I dont like A and E because I dont like to handle immediate case
Because I am a "TYPE A"personality = Very "GAN CHIONG" person.
I am afraid I would develope High blood pressure and some more A&E alot of CPR!!
I hate CPR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hence I would like to go wards but specialise in .... medical ? surgical? orthopedics? operating theater? clinical?
Hmm.......... Thinking ! Thinking !

microecons lecture ruined by lousy microecon lecturer with a lousy micro-phone! =(

went for microecons lesson by the london lecturer on sat n sun.. wah, my lecturer speaks like jay chou sia.. he mumble mumble mumble, n hence i c my class pple leave leave leave.

Day 1: b4 lunch, there were abt 100 plus pple..
aft lunch, ard 60 stayed, (snowball included! =))
aft tea break ard 50 remaining...
at the end, ard 40 remains. (snowball still inside wor! but no tips given.. =( )

why snowball is an idiot leh? bcos snowball n dear (and very sweet and nice frenz, Eunice) tot that the lecturer will keep the good stuffs ie. exam tips at the end, but hor!! he mutter mutter mutter and we dig dig dig our ears but no! no tips at all! wau lau! wasted leh! i wish sim will invest in better microphone wor! grr!

the only good thing that came out eventually was that snowball met an ex-classmate from her sec skool! bcos the pple from my sec skool nv change at all, ie. their pattern and look nv change. thin one still thin, fat ones (who huh?! who??) bcome fatter. i can recognise that fellow slacker whom i know about 13 years ago even though his back is facing me. Haha! he's pretty impressed by that!

we had lunch together and bcos there were no empty tables, we gotta share table with a gal who was very diligently doing her revision. Then the stupid frenz got excited while tokking abt gals and kept banging the table! i so-wanted to kill him bcos i cld feel the gal getting more and more irritated with us. plus bcos this frenz is oso snowball's fellow dirty-tok-kaki, he is quite open with snowball. snowball very scared to see fellow sim-kakis who tot that snowball is an angel who's mind is pure and white.. so scared that snowball vow never to tok to fellow slacker-cum-dirty-tok-kakis in SIM. so fellow slacker-cum-tok-dirty-kaki, pls act like u dun noe snowball when u c me ok or i won't teach u econs ok! its ur loss hor cos ur truly took intro to econs 3 times (the max # of time) n pass with flying colors wor! LOL!

I got bullied by my Nursing friends!

Our project topic was decide on our first week attachment. We are going to present to the "Nurse Manager=Sister " . I was to do resusitation in the ward which means "Code blue emergency". Before the day of my presentation, my friend actually agree with SISter on my behalf without asking or Informing Me and did'nt even call me at the least.

Today Presentation day , Morning then I was inform by Jas that I have to do CPR. I mean I dont really LIKE CPR very much! hence u wont see me in emergency ward= A&E.

It could be because I dont like mannequin alot!

SOME more I need to do ETT tubing ! I WASNT even prepare for IT. I was preparing for VF/VT/asystole and PEA alogorithm. *FAINT*

I feel like I was being "SOLD OUT" . Oh my GOD!!

Ai yah !! ME being ME = Aunty ME ! I just grabble garble like. Ha hA . I try to do my BEst !

Tml I got interview. I hope I can work in CGH and pass the interview. I hope my this lousy presentation would not affect my interview tml.

Wah ! The ENs BUTT very hard to move lei !

Night Shift is a very tiring job.
If everyone do their parts and help out I'm sure everything will be in order.

The ENS really knw how to bully pple.
They just sit there and command students to do all the work.
They did help out with sponging patients but it's because students cannot sponged the patient by themselves.
Patient's vital signs are all monitor by the students.
End up me looking so hagged in the morning.
Somemore we were ask to do morning shift's vital signs too whereas they sit on the chair and monitor us and look after the files. (As if the files were valuables)

If there are no students, they will be so busy and do work non-stop till morning.
And yet when the students were there, they acted like "King of the bandits hill" Never even move once away from the chairs unless Necessary.
All the Call Bells were all answered by the students.

This morning when taking vitals signs for all the patients,I charted at the wrong column. I am suppose to chart at the 18th 8am morning column but end up i charted at 17th 8pm night column. I felt so sorry and at the same time I was laughing i my heart coz the ENs now had to do extra work just to correct my mistakes. *Evils Laugh*

NIGHT shift

My Night Shift is so slow going.
My first time doing my night shift. It's peacful and not so stress except when there are admissions.
The ENs are so helpful by giving orders and letting us do all the work. They just sit and give orders. They do help only when necessary like changing pampers and sponging. The TPN all give us do and they just sit and do charting.
I prefer fast pace of work.
Night shift too slow and time passes like a snail.
Scary ! Ha Ha Not scary at all. I dont feel scary but only tired.
Came home straight away sleep from 8am to 2pm.
My warm cozy bed . I love my BED so much !

PS. Snowball I saw your mommy . We took the same bus back at busstop number 9 bus. We chat a while and then she alighted and went home coz she bought breakfast for you. I didnt chat much with her coz I too tired. SO ENVY of you !! Smell so nice ! So what she bought ?

Going to have an interview with CGH for application of Job. Going to graduate. I think I am going to have PMS soon also. This few days going to be soooo irritating!

I still remember this Poem. When I wrote autographies for my classmates, I would always use this to fill up the spaces on the page. Those are the days.

Now ........so sad no one ask me to write autography for them anymore. All of them in friendster or surfing net. People now does not practice writing and instead they are all typing on their computers .

anyway since i am so bored today i shall write some crap here bcos u need to keep visitors coming in! otherwise very paiseh leh cos everyone can judge hw 'interesting' our blog is with regards to the 'Visitor Counting Box'. Its a bit like one's report card wor! I am telling dear ms piggy (who put it up in the 1st place) to take it down if the figures are too stable (ie. always remaining at the same number! loL)

A few mths ago, bcos sotong and i got no topic to tok, i asked her an assumption qns. i asked her,

'wai gal, if one day, you get your hands on a pill that once consumed, can make u live forever, wld u (1) eat it (2) give it to someone else-who huh?? or (3) destroy it!!!'

Sotong told me that if we want to be really cruel to a person, we cld crushed the pill into powder and secretly add it into a drink of that person who will then consume it without knowing about it and then later on many many years later, after painfully watching all his loved ones dying one by one, will wonder when is his time to go too..

Then she asked me what i will do. actually prior to asking her tat, i haf already tot of it bcos i always day-dream in the toilet while shitting! haha! okok, anyway back to the topic. Initially i tot of giving it to Mr Lee Kwan Yew cos i tot he is such an intelligent man. Then i tot wah! se-scully wait he want bcum emperor and rule singapore forever how cos we never know what time can do to a person. The more time u haf, the greater amt of time we can haf to acumulate our wealth and intelligence and then for a politician, the greater the hunger for power wor.. scary..

The Second person i tot of will be to give it to Jay Chou bcos i admire his talent for music so much that i fall in love with almost all his songs despite the fact that i think that he (still) looked like a chao ah beng (& not a very handsome one too!) To me, if i can actually get over that fact then his music must b really good! Haha cos like weili and kailing always say, 'Snowball is a very shallow-minded gal!' Hence, i hope that this mr chou can produce an album every year till the day i say, 'bye bye world' and go heaven. =)

Then i ponder on what sotong said and i realised that all these pple i haf mentioned have great talents but are not related to me in term of family or frenzs. maybe its bcos i haf no feelings for them hence i am able to b cruel to them.. But like wat sotong say, i think its best to destroy it cos eternality is hell without the ones we loved by our side..

Yesterday, one of the uncle that went for physio with me passed away. i used to dislike talking to him cos he sibei hao lian n negative but gradually i accepted that he is what he is bcos of the shit he been thru.. He had been thru alot. His family depised him for his illness during the worst time of his life. It was painful to him bcos he did alot for the family. His illness, muscular dystrophy cause his limbs to grow weaker day by day and prolonged sitting and laying caused pain all over his body, making him bad tempered always. The 1st time he toked abt his family and how his 2nd son blamed him for inheriting muscular dystrophy to him and his son, i felt very sad for him, esp when i saw him crying..

Then on jan, he took me that he was diagnoised with bone cancer. and it was the terminal stage. This time he didn't cry. He says that he hoped that his time on earth will b up soon cos its too hard for him to bear and he cldn't do anything to ease it.. I wanted to say, 'Uncle, b strong.' but the very minute i heard those words, i had to excuse myself to go to the washroom cos i din wan him to see the tears that had uncontrollingly rolled down.. i told myself that i wan do something for uncle like asking my dad's sinseh's frenz to go uncle's hse and c if he can do anything to ease uncle's body ache, but b4 that cld b arranged.. uncle was gone.. i felt awful when clement's maid (in the same bus) announced that uncle lim had passed away last thu during our bus ride yesterday. But the ex-warrant officer uncle who was initially talking happily to me was shocked and i saw him cried abit. We all grew quiet and the rest of the ride to the rehab centre was quiet..

I am going Crazy with Work !!

I cannot imagine that my classmate a Year 3 Person who is going to graduate is working like a turtle. Everything about her is turtlish. U knows how a turtle move? Slow and easy. So what to do, i have to work with her no Choice.
In a ward with 44 patients and we are in charge with 2 cubicles of 16 patients to take care of. I am really going to bite her head off. As a person, she is not bad. As a nurse, I wish I can throttle her.

Yesterday my cubicles, there were 3 drama Queens who kept crying non-stopped. Because the STUPID DOCTOR I really mean stupid. What he did?

He went and comment in front of the patient that her condition is worsening. (I want to FAINT le.) He said that to the Patient and can u imagine what come next? The DRAMA. It is actually like the babies at KKH when they are hungry, once one cries the whole row of babies cry together. Some more, it is nearly family visiting hours. So when the family came and saw their precious Patient crying, they were very worried. One of the family members started to speak very loudly to me and I have to ignore his comments but explain to him calmly and NICELY and continue my work. I had to swallow the humble Pie.

The other patient wants to go home and she start packing and walking around .But with her condition she is not suppose to walk around. In the end, she was restrained with Doc's permission and family consent. She nearly runs away because she was frightened of Operation. That I can understand. But still she cannot go home because her condition will be dangerous. Hence, she was shouting and scolding very loudly.

This last patient, I tell you just because she just came back from small operation hence she is restless. With the commotion around her, she wants to seek attention also. She started to cry. I did what I can for her and let her husband to take care of her. Her husband so Cute ask me if I had taken my dinner or not while I was busy taking care of his wife's needs.
All this Drama happens at family visiting hours. I have to deal with the patients and together with the family members. The best have yet to come.

MY SPCA = Senior Patient Care Assistant is the Icing on the Cake. She does nothing and is worse than the Turtle yr3. She gives command and asks us students to do and she gives instructions like a granny who nags about everything but not straight to the point. What to do ! I just give her the Ignore therapy.

I am busy and passing report and guess what! She asks me to prepare for her the procedure and she just stand there do NOTHING! She just keep checking and charting where we have already done for her. This is ridiculous! What has the world come to? ALAMAK i wanted to ask her to retired really coz she so old and cannot help much. This is not discriminating because she can't keep up and she can't do work. Instead she like a movie director keeps giving instructions and directing only. I mean if her directives were accurate and correct and clear i dont mind helping her . Most of the time , her instructions were actually meant for you to go round and round the "Merry go Round".
